Soccerway after Livesport: what changed
Soccerway is a free football live scores and results site that has run on Flashscore's system since 2025. We opened one La Liga match, one player and a fifth-tier Spanish league on it. The xG matched Flashscore, and the archive reached 1977.
Pros
- Free Opta xG, no account.
- Player xG table on covered matches.
- Results archive back to 1977.
- Transfers, market value and injuries.
Cons
- Copies Flashscore, football only.
- Two xG values on one page.
- H2H counts the finished match.
- American odds until you switch.
What Soccerway is for
You open Soccerway for live scores, a result, the standings or the next fixture. It covers the Premier League and it also covers regional Spanish leagues. It is free, and you do not need an account.
The lineup page lists the players who are missing and why. On top-league matches you also get expected goals (xG), shots and a rating for every player. xG gives each shot a value between 0 and 1, which is how often a shot like that goes in. If the term is new, our xG guide starts from zero.
Results go back decades, head-to-head (H2H) records are on match pages, and player pages list transfers, market value and injuries. There is no season table of xG, no prediction and no price comparison.
What happened to Soccerway in 2025
Soccerway is one of the oldest football results sites. The copyright line on the page starts in 2001. Today it belongs to Livesport, the Prague company behind Flashscore. Livesport Digital, the group's buying arm, lists Soccerway in its portfolio next to BeSoccer and FCTables.
In early June 2025 a new layout went live, and forum posts from that week complain that the UK fixtures filter had gone. Later, a Wikipedia editor noted that Soccerway player IDs had changed and now match Flashscore's.
Users of the old Soccerway took it badly. The Trustpilot page is full of one-star reviews about the redesign: features they used are harder to find, and there are more betting ads. One reviewer missed the old way of opening any fixture and jumping straight to every competition both teams played in. Others say the company cannot be contacted.
One match on Soccerway and Flashscore
Our test match was Rayo Vallecano 2-1 Espanyol, La Liga, 15 September 2026. We used the same match for our football stats sites comparison, so every number can be checked against another source.
The Stats tab on Soccerway gives xG of 1.71 for Rayo and 1.65 for Espanyol. xG on target (xGOT), which only counts shots that reached the goal, is 0.93 against 1.15. Shots 16 to 19, on target 2 to 5, possession 55 to 45.
Flashscore shows the same figures, and so do FotMob and Sofascore. Flashscore and FotMob both name Opta as their data supplier. Opta is the company that records every touch in a match and sells the data to media sites.
The Report tab has a momentum chart, a strip of bars that shows which team was on top minute by minute, with a small “Flashscore” credit in the corner.
Rayo 1.71, Espanyol 1.65 on the Stats tab: the same xG as Flashscore, FotMob and Sofascore, down to the hundredth.
Soccerway xG: two numbers, one page
The Game tab has a short stats block under the timeline, and it gives Espanyol an xG of 1.66. One click away, the Stats tab of the same match says 1.65. Rayo shows 1.71 in both places.
0.01 will not change a bet. Which figure goes in your notes? The Stats one, since it matches Flashscore, FotMob and Sofascore.
Player xG and a rating per match
Player stats is the tab to open if you bet on a player: to score, or to have a certain number of shots.
Every player gets a row with a rating, shots, xG, accurate passes, touches and touches in the opposition box. Tabs split the rest into Shots, Attack, Passes, Defense, Goalkeeping and General, and each column sorts with one click.
Álvaro García had one shot, worth 0.63, and the best rating on the pitch: 7.9, marked with a blue star. Adrià Pedrosa scored Rayo's second goal. His two shots together were worth 0.08.
Pathé Ciss got 7.8 without a single shot. He had 80 touches and completed 52 of 58 passes.
On the Espanyol side, Javi Hernández took three shots worth 0.30 and did not score.
8.8, 8.7 or 9.05: one match
Take Waldemar Anton, a Borussia Dortmund defender, in Hoffenheim 2-3 Dortmund on 5 September. Soccerway gave him 8.8 with an assist. FotMob gave him 8.7. WhoScored gave him 9.05.
Each site runs its own formula, and we found no explanation of Soccerway's on the page.
Anton at Hoffenheim, one match: 8.8 on Soccerway, 8.7 on FotMob, 9.05 on WhoScored.
The Last matches list on his page mixes every competition: Bundesliga, Champions League, the German cup and the Super Cup. Anton's run reads 7.2, 7.1, 7.3, 8.8, 7.5, 7.5 and 6.2. The 6.2 came in the Super Cup, a single game against Bayern before the season. Leave it out when you judge his league form; the page will not do it for you.
Missing players and why they are out
Under the lineups, Soccerway lists who is out and why. Rayo had six names for our match. Batalla had a broken calf bone, and De Frutos was suspended after a red card.
Luiz Felipe, Nteka, Palazón and Vertrouwd were out injured. Espanyol had four missing, among them Puado with a knee injury.
If a team's top scorer is on this list, a bet on that team to score a lot of goals looks weaker. We saw the list after full time. How early it fills up before kick-off, we did not check.
H2H on a finished match counts itself
The H2H tab has two parts, and both need care if you open a match that is already over.
The first part is recent form, the last five results of each team. On the page of our 15 September match, Rayo's list already starts with a 1-1 draw at Osasuna on 19 September. Espanyol's starts with a 3-1 home defeat to Elche on 18 September. Both games were played after our match.
The second part is the head-to-head list, and it opens with the match itself, Rayo 2-1.
The next four rows are the meetings before it:
- 23 April 2026: Rayo 1-0 Espanyol
- 7 December 2025: Espanyol 1-0 Rayo
- 4 April 2025: Rayo 0-4 Espanyol
- 31 August 2024: Espanyol 2-1 Rayo
Before kick-off, the last four meetings read Espanyol 3 wins, Rayo 1. The first five rows now read Espanyol 3, Rayo 2. More games are behind “Show more games”.
On an upcoming match this cannot happen. It catches you when you go back to a bet you placed and want to see what you knew at the time. Our H2H guide uses the same fixture and shows how much the answer moves with the number of meetings you count.
On a finished match, the Soccerway H2H tab counts that match and the games played after it.
Soccerway results back to 1977
The Results tab on a team page keeps scrolling. For Rayo, the list reached the 1977/78 season, their first in the top flight. That page has Cádiz 2-1 Rayo on 4 September 1977 and a 3-2 Rayo win over Real Madrid on 30 October. Draws are marked “T”, for tie.
The current season needs more care, because the list mixes competitions. Below the 2026/27 league games are four summer friendlies: Ipswich, Charleroi, Feyenoord and Hearts. Rayo lost three of them.
Count those as form and Rayo looks worse than its league run. Red card icons next to the scores are useful too. Rayo had a man sent off in the 3-2 win over Racing Santander, and so did Espanyol in our match.
Transfers, market value, injury history
Anton's header shows his age, 30, a market value of €17.6m and a contract to 30 June 2028. The Transfers tab lists his move from Hannover to Stuttgart for €4.0m in July 2020 and from Stuttgart to Dortmund for €22.5m in July 2024. Injury history has a thigh injury from 11 December 2025 to 8 January 2026 and two short illnesses.
The career table runs season by season from 2015/16, with an average rating for each: 322 league games, 13 goals, 10 assists, 53 yellow cards and 2 red. The page does not say where the market value comes from. FotMob puts him at €14.1m.
Tercera RFEF: tables yes, stats no
To see where the detail stops, we went down to the fifth level of Spanish football, four divisions below La Liga. Soccerway calls it Tercera RFEF, and the menu lists all 18 of its regional groups.
Group 5 has a full league table. Extra views show each team's last results (Form), goals scored and let in (Totals), the half-time and full-time score (HT/FT) and the top scorers. Each view splits home and away games. Results, fixtures, an odds tab and an archive are there too.
The match pages have no statistics at all, only the score. We did not test the fourth and third tiers.
Soccerway odds: American by default
The match page has an odds block. It covers four bet types: 1X2 (home win, draw or away win), Total (number of goals), Both teams to score and Double chance (two of the three results in one bet). Ours showed +125, +225 and +229.
Those are American odds. +125 means a $100 bet wins $125 profit. In the decimal format used in Europe the same prices are 2.25, 3.25 and 3.29.
Each price hides a chance: divide 1 by the decimal odds. The three chances add up to about 105.6%, not 100%. The extra 5.6% is the bookmaker's margin. In other words, these prices pay back about 94.7% of the money bet on this match result. Our odds converter does the maths for any price.
No bookmaker name is shown next to the prices. A bet365 banner is right under them. We connected from the Netherlands, so the banner was in Dutch.
You can switch formats without an account. Open the menu, go to Settings, and pick Decimal or Fractional. The same window lets you order games by league or by start time.
The site looks set up for the US. MLS and Liga MX, the US and Mexican leagues, are in the top menu. The footer has a US gambling helpline.
Flashscore asked us to confirm our age before it showed odds. Soccerway did not.
Soccerway match reports with a byline
The Report tab is a written match report signed by a journalist, Ryan Fisher, and published the same evening. It has a photo from a news agency.
This one mentions that Rayo were playing at their “adopted” Estadio Butarque. The match header says the same in a small note, “Playing home matches at a different stadium”. The team page still lists Rayo's own ground in Vallecas.
Before you compare Rayo's home and away results this season, check where each “home” game was played.
Who runs Soccerway: Livesport, Prague
The Impressum page, a legal page with the owner's details, names the company. It is Livesport s.r.o., Bucharova 2928/14a, Prague 5, registry number 27433722, 100% owned by Livesport Group a.s. The people who own it in the end are Martin Hájek and Jiří Mareš. A phone number and info@livesport.eu are listed, so the Trustpilot complaint about a company with no contacts does not match the site today.
The Terms of Use are dated 10 September 2025 and follow Czech law. They say the odds are shown as news, not as betting advice. The site is for personal use only, and copying its data with automatic tools is not allowed. One account can also log you in to other Livesport sites. The Privacy Policy says your data can be shared with other Livesport companies.
Those other sites include Flashscore and two odds comparison sites, BetExplorer and OddsPortal.
Checking a match in five steps
This is the order we would use before a bet on a match Soccerway covers in detail.
- Open Lineups and read the missing players first, if the list is already filled in. A missing striker or goalkeeper can move a price more than any rating.
- Go to each team page and open Results. Skip the friendlies and cup games, and count only the league matches when you judge form.
- Open H2H, but only use meetings played before the match you are betting on. On an upcoming fixture that is all of them.
- For xG, use the Stats tab of each team's last few matches, not the short block on the Game tab.
- Before you compare prices, switch the odds to Decimal in Settings. Then divide 1 by each price to see the chance it implies.
None of these steps needs an account. Steps 1 and 4 only work on matches with full coverage, so on a small league you are left with the table, the results and H2H.
Soccerway or Flashscore: which to open
On our match the xG and xGOT were the same on both sites, and Soccerway's momentum chart carries Flashscore's name.
Flashscore covers 35 sports and showed xG on a Bolivian league match. Soccerway covers football only. It showed odds without an age check on our connection, and it starts in American format.
We did not compare the archive or the player pages side by side, so we cannot say which goes deeper.
For match data, open whichever layout you like; opening both adds nothing. For a season table of xG you need Understat or WhoScored.
Soccerway rating: 3.5 out of 5
Soccerway is free, with no account. Top-league matches have Opta xG, a player xG table and a list of who is missing. Player pages list transfers and injuries, and results go back to the 1970s. League tables reach the fifth level of Spanish football.
Against that, the data is Flashscore's and it covers one sport. One page showed two different xG values for the same team. The H2H tab on a finished match includes that match and later games. Odds start in American format, which most bettors outside the US do not use. Betting banners sit right next to the odds.
Flashscore has the same data, 35 sports and a 4.0. Soccerway gets 3.5.
