Flashscore: live scores on Opta data

Flashscore is a free live score site from Prague with match statistics for football and 34 other sports. For this Flashscore review we opened matches from La Liga, Serie A and Bolivia's top division, plus a Grand Slam final. The football xG matched FotMob and Sofascore.

Flashscore beyond the live score

Most people open Flashscore for football live scores. Under the score there is a lot more, and some of it helps with a bet.

The main thing is expected goals (xG) for each match. xG gives every shot a number between 0 and 1. A shot from one metre into an empty goal can be worth about 0.7, a shot from thirty metres about 0.03. Add up a team's shots and you see how many goals its chances were worth, whatever the final score was. If xG is new to you, our xG guide starts from zero.

Every player also gets a mark after the match, and every player who took a shot gets his own xG. If you bet on a player to score, that table is where to look. Flashscore also goes past the big leagues: we found xG even on a match from Bolivia's top division.

We did not find a season table of xG, a real price comparison or a prediction on the pages we opened.

Same xG on a La Liga match

We opened Rayo Vallecano 2-1 Espanyol, La Liga, 15 September 2026. We used the same match on the xG sites in our comparison.

Flashscore gave Rayo 1.71 xG and Espanyol 1.65. It gave xG on target (xGOT) as 0.93 and 1.15. xGOT only counts shots on target and also looks at where in the goal the ball went, so a shot into the corner is worth more. Total shots were 16 and 19.

Those are exactly the figures on FotMob and Sofascore. Understat gave Rayo 1.83 from the same shots.

Flashscore Stats tab for Rayo Vallecano 2-1 Espanyol on 15 September 2026 with expected goals 1.71 and 1.65 and total shots 16 and 19
Flashscore gives Rayo and Espanyol 1.71 and 1.65 xG (1) from 16 and 19 shots (2), the same figures FotMob and Sofascore show for this match.

Flashscore's own FAQ says it uses Opta as the main data provider for football. Opta is a company that collects match data and sells it to many websites, including FotMob and WhoScored. Our test match shows the same thing on the screen.

The Player stats tab adds a note under the table: “A penalty has a fixed value of 0.79.” FotMob valued a Champions League final penalty at exactly 0.79 too.

On Rayo v Espanyol, Flashscore, FotMob and Sofascore all showed 1.71 xG for Rayo and 1.65 for Espanyol.

What does this mean for you? If you made a rule on FotMob numbers, for example “bet on more than 2.5 goals when both teams average 1.5 xG”, it should give the same bets on Flashscore, since the figures were identical on our test match. On Understat the same rule can give different bets, because Understat counts xG its own way.

Flashscore xG in Bolivia's top league

In August we checked a Bolivian league match on FotMob. It had shots and possession, but no xG.

On Flashscore, Independiente 1-3 SA Bulo Bulo, Bolivian Division Profesional, 19 September 2026, had a full stats page. xG was 1.95 against 1.42. There were also xGOT, expected assists (xA, the xG of the shots a player set up), passes and tackles.

Flashscore Stats tab for Independiente 1-3 SA Bulo Bulo in the Bolivian Division Profesional with expected goals 1.95 and 1.42
A Bolivian league match (1) on Flashscore comes with full statistics and xG of 1.95 against 1.42 (2), a level of detail FotMob did not give for Bolivia when we checked in August.

The two checks were on different matches, a month apart, so FotMob may have added Bolivia since. Flashscore had it in September.

Is it Opta xG there as well? The page does not say. The FAQ only says Opta is the “primary”, or main, provider for football.

How far down does it go? The FAQ gives player ratings for more than 175 football competitions. The match pages talk about “more than 1000 competitions”. So most competitions on Flashscore have scores, and a smaller part have ratings and full stats. We did not test where the line falls.

Flashscore player ratings in one table

Each player gets a mark out of 10 after the match. On our game the marks ran from 5.0 to 7.9. On Rayo v Espanyol the Lineups tab showed a team average of 7.0 for Rayo and 6.2 for Espanyol. Álvaro García scored for Rayo and got the top mark, 7.9. El Hilali, sent off late in the game, got 5.0.

The Player stats tab is more useful for betting. It lists every player with his mark, shots, xG, passes and touches of the ball. You can sort by any column, for example to see who had the best chances. Tabs switch between Top stats, Shots, Attack, Passes, Defense, Goalkeeping and General.

Flashscore Player stats table for Rayo Vallecano v Espanyol with ratings and expected goals per player, Garcia 7.9 and 0.63 xG
Every player on one table with a rating (1) and xG (2): García scored from his only shot, worth 0.63, while Pedrosa scored from two shots worth 0.08 together.

Open a player and the marks are listed match by match. Ronald Bustos of SA Bulo Bulo had a rating for each game he played, an average per season back to 2023, a market value of €204k and a contract date. A line under the career table says older historical data may be incomplete.

Pedrosa scored Rayo's second goal. His two shots in the match were worth 0.08 xG together.

Where the ratings come from is not explained on the page. We did not compare them with FotMob or WhoScored for this match, so we cannot say how close they are.

Six blocks of match stats

The Flashscore stats tab has much more than xG. On a big match it runs in six blocks:

  • Top stats: xG, possession (how long each team had the ball), big chances, touches in the other team's box, shots, plus corners, yellow cards and red cards.
  • Shots: xGOT, shots on and off target, blocked shots, shots from inside and outside the box, shots that hit the post.
  • Attack: big chances scored and missed, corners, free kicks, offsides.
  • Passes: accurate passes, long passes, passes near the other team's goal, crosses, xA.
  • Defense: fouls, tackles, balls won back, balls kicked clear.
  • Goalkeeping: saves, xGOT faced, goals prevented.

The whole tab can be switched to the 1st half or the 2nd half.

“Goals prevented” shows how well a goalkeeper did. It is the xGOT of the shots he faced minus the goals he let in. Above zero means he saved more than expected, below zero means less. On AC Milan 3-0 Lecce, 20 September, Lecce's goalkeeper faced shots worth 1.31 xGOT and let in three, so his figure was -1.69. He let in almost two goals more than the shots were worth.

For card and corner bets you get the count for each match. You do not get how often a player is booked per minute played. For that, FBref is still the free source.

Flashscore H2H tab: three views

The Flashscore H2H (head to head) tab opens on three views: all matches, the home team's home games and the away team's away games. Each shows the last five results of both teams, marked W for win, D for draw and L for loss. Below them are the matches the two teams played against each other.

The meetings list showed five league games between Rayo and Espanyol, from August 2024 to this match, and “Show more matches” went further back.

It is a quick way to check form. It does not count goals per game, or how often a team kept a clean sheet or saw more than 2.5 goals. You count those yourself.

Flashscore tennis stats and other sports

We counted 35 sports in the menu: eight in the top bar and 27 more under “More”. They run from football and tennis to kabaddi, pesäpallo and horse racing.

Livesport's own pages give other numbers. The Google Play listing and a player page both say 30+ sports. The FAQ says there are more than 40 other sports besides football.

Flashscore sports menu with eight sports in the top bar and 27 more under the More button
Eight sports sit in the top bar (1) and 27 more under More (2), 35 in all, while the app listing says 30+ and the FAQ more than 40.

We opened one tennis match to see what other sports get. Flashscore tennis stats for the Australian Open final, Alcaraz 3-1 Djokovic, filled a full page in four groups: service, return, points and games, split by set.

For a tennis bet, look at how often the first serve goes in, how many points a player wins on it, and break points saved. A break point is a chance for the other player to win a game on your serve. Alcaraz won 77% of points on his first serve, Djokovic 66%. Djokovic saved 11 of 16 break points, Alcaraz 4 of 6.

Flashscore tennis statistics for Alcaraz v Djokovic Australian Open 2026 final with first serve and break point figures
For a tennis bet, look at first serve points (1) and break points saved (2): Alcaraz won 77% on his first serve, and Djokovic saved 11 of 16 break points and still lost.

There is no xG in tennis, and no player rating either. Tennis gets a Point by point tab and a Draw tab for the tournament instead.

A quick routine before a bet

  1. Open the match and go to Stats. Read xG first, then shots. A team with many shots but low xG mostly took poor chances, often from far away.
  2. Switch to 1st half and 2nd half. A match can look even over 90 minutes but be one-sided after the break.
  3. Open Player stats and sort by xG. It shows who gets the good chances, which matters if you bet on a player to score.
  4. Go to H2H and look at the home team's home games and the away team's away games as well as the full list.
  5. Decide how likely you think the result is, turn that into a price, and compare it with the prices on an odds comparison site.

Flashscore odds after an age check

On our first visits the match page had no odds at all. Then we clicked the odds link in the footer. On our Dutch connection it read “Odds and betting version 25+”.

A window opened: “Are you of legal age?” Clicking Yes also means you agree to see betting ads and that you know betting can lose you money. A tick box lets you say you do not want gambling ads.

After Yes, the Flashscore odds tab appeared on the match page. It had the main bet types: who wins (1X2, where X is a draw), more or less than a number of goals, both teams to score, double chance and handicaps. In a handicap one team starts with a goal advantage. Prices were given for the full match and for each half.

On Rayo v Espanyol the odds tab showed two bookmakers. One offered 2.35 for a Rayo win, 3.40 for a draw and 3.30 for an Espanyol win. The other offered 2.25, 3.25 and 3.30.

The first bookmaker keeps less for itself. Its prices return about 97.8% of all money staked to winners, the second about 94.8%. The bookmaker keeps the rest.

Flashscore ODDS tab for Rayo Vallecano v Espanyol with two bookmaker rows and a note calling the odds advertising content
Only two bookmaker rows on our match (1), and the line under them calls the odds advertising content from the listed bookmakers (2).

A click on a price took us to the bookmaker's own site. “Show more” under the table opened a separate page about bookmakers. We did not count the names there, so “two” means the two on the match page.

Two Livesport texts describe the same prices differently: “advertising content” on the odds tab, “news purposes” in the Terms.

Two bookmakers and a bonus page

The two names on our match were bookmakers with a Dutch licence. Flashscore read our connection as the Netherlands, so readers in other countries will likely see other names.

A line under the table says: “Odds displayed are advertising content from the listed bookmakers.” The Terms of Use, dated 2023, still say the odds are shown “for news purposes”.

The gift icon in the header opened a page of welcome offers from four bookmakers. The page says the site works with these bookmakers.

Livesport, the company behind Flashscore, also runs BetExplorer, which had 20 bookmaker rows on a single match when we tested it. Why does this matter? One bookmaker often pays more than another for the same bet. An odds comparison site such as BetExplorer shows many bookmakers side by side, so you can pick the best price.

Flashscore ad-free plan: iOS only

Flashscore is free and needs no account. Flashscore ads pay for it.

On one match page we saw an eToro banner, Apple TV banners across the middle of the page and empty ad boxes. After the age check, bookmaker banners were added next to the stats.

Can you pay to remove them? On the website, no. The contact form says the ad-free subscription is only in the iOS app for now. The App Store lists two “Banner-free version” purchases without saying what period each one covers. Prices depend on your country.

Google Play shows the Flashscore app for Android at 4.7 stars from 2.49 million ratings, with ads. The App Store shows 4.8 stars from 111,000 ratings. We tested the website, not the app or its notifications.

Livesport: address, terms and support

Flashscore belongs to Livesport s.r.o., a Czech company at Bucharova 2928/14a, Prague 5, company number 274 33 722. The copyright line starts in 2006, the year Livesport was founded. Livesport also runs BetExplorer and OddsPortal.

Livesport also owns Soccerway, one of the oldest football results sites. Since its 2025 redesign, Soccerway runs on the same system as Flashscore, and on our test match both showed the same xG. Our Soccerway review covers what is different there: a results archive back to 1977, transfers and injury history.

The Terms of Use are dated 1 April 2023. The Privacy Policy is dated 15 May 2025 and names a data protection officer at dpo@livesport.eu.

Support works through a web form. You choose a topic first: a data error, a page error, betting odds, the ad-free subscription or your account. The page gives no email for users, although the Terms list info@livesport.eu as the contact address. We did not send a message, so we cannot say how fast they reply.

Gaps we found

We saw no season xG table. We also did not open the league pages, so one may exist there.

You cannot download the data, and the Terms forbid collecting it with a program or copying a large part of it.

The match page we used had no win probability and no prediction.

Nor could we find a table of how often a team's games had more than 2.5 goals, or how often it kept a clean sheet.

Flashscore vs Sofascore and FotMob

All three are free live score apps, and on our match they showed the same xG. FotMob is football only and shows the xG of every single shot on its shot map. Sofascore covers many sports, lists amateur matches entered by users and shows odds from two bookmakers. Flashscore covers 35 sports and had xG on a Bolivian league match. Its Player stats table puts the rating, shots and xG of every player in one sortable view.

Any of the three works for a big league. In a small league we would open Flashscore first and check whether the Stats tab is there. For a season of xG we used Understat and WhoScored, since we did not open Flashscore's league pages.

Our football stats hub maps which site holds which numbers.

How accurate are Flashscore stats?

Is Flashscore legit? It is run by a registered Czech company. It publishes a full address, terms of use and a contact for data questions. Its football data comes mainly from Opta, and on our test match it matched FotMob, which names Opta, and Sofascore exactly.

The Terms still say that results come from third parties and advise you to check them against other sources. The contact form has a topic for data errors, so mistakes do happen.

On Trustpilot, Flashscore scores about 2.2 out of 5.

Flashscore rating: where points went

We give Flashscore 4.0.

The score comes from the stats: Opta xG, xGOT and xA, a mark for every player and xG for every player who shot, and xG even on a Bolivian league match. The match stats run to six blocks.

We took points off for the rest. Odds come from two bookmakers after an age check, the gift icon leads to a bonus page, and the ads cannot be removed on the web. The odds tab itself calls the prices advertising content.

That puts it level with Sofascore at 4.0 and a tenth under FotMob at 4.1.
